Myrtle has gone a perfect 6-0 against Walnut recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hawks will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Walnut will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Myrtle extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand Mantachie a 10-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brooklyn Streich was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Ally Murphy was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Khole Bennett, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Myrtle hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matchups.

At the plate, Taylor Garner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Walnut's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Myrtle, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.
