Basketball Game Preview: Hawthorne Hornets vs. Bradford Tornadoes

The Hawthorne Hornets are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will challenge the Bradford Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hawthorne is headed out to face Bradford after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went Hawthorne's way against The Rock back in November as Hawthorne made off with a 73-50 victory. The win was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on 20 straight dating back to last season.

Hawthorne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from De' Mya Adams, who went 8 of 20 en route to 24 points and seven assists. The contest was Adams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarhae Hopkins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 boards.

Hawthorne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Bradford's game on Monday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 49-39 victory over Fort White. The win was familiar territory for the Tornadoes who have now won four matchups in a row.

Hawthorne didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bradford in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hawthorne since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
