            Volleyball Recap: Marquette Mustangs vs. Lafayette Lancers        
        
		
        
        
            Marquette faced Lafayette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against  the Lancers, falling  3-0. The Mustangs have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
 The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16,  25-19.
Marquette's offense was headlined by  Maggie Smith and  Kate McLean, who picked up five kills apiece. Smith really made an impact as  she also led the team in assists with six.  Chelsea Plunkett controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
 Lafayette was led to victory by  Addy Wiese and  Alexa Hastings.  Wiese  had 25  digs and one assist, while  Hastings  had five  digs and five  aces. Wiese has been hot, having  posted ten or more  digs the last five times she's  played.
Marquette's loss dropped their record down to 19-17. As for Lafayette, the  victory was  the 22nd in a row for them, bringing their record up to 37-1.
 Marquette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette, they will challenge Cor Jesu Academy on Saturday.
