Soccer Game Preview: Carthage vs. Kilgore

Carthage hasn't had much luck against Kilgore recently, but that could start to change on Friday. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up.

Last Wednesday, Carthage came up short against Center and fell 4-2. Cesar Barcenas was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Cooper Joines wasn't going to let Center walk away unscathed as he scored both of Carthage's goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Meanwhile, Kilgore waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Tigers 4-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Kilgore's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those seven games. As for Carthage, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Carthage came up short against Kilgore in their previous matchup back in January, falling 2-0. Can Carthage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
