Baseball Recap: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Penn Kingsmen

Jimtown lost a close one when they played last Saturday but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They lost 14-4 to the Penn Kingsmen. Jimtown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Penn apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Connor Christman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with a triple, a run, and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Blasko, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Jimtown dropped their record down to 13-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Penn, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Jimtown will look to defend their home field on Friday against Tippecanoe Valley at 7:30 p.m. As for Penn, they will head out on the road to take on New Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. New Prairie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
