Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hampshire). They put the hurt on the East Hardy Cougars with a sharp 43-30 win on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Bri Cosner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Cosner was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-6 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Call, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Ferguson, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
