Softball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Athens lost to Olympia back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warriors fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 4-3.

Athens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preslie Buckmaster, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Olympia, they have been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

Athens has already played their next game, a 9-4 win against Pawnee on the 11th. As for Olympia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against East Peoria on the 8th.
