Basketball Recap: Calvary Academy Takes a Loss

Calvary Academy lost against Solid Rock Christian School last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Calvary Academy Warrior took a blow against the Solid Rock Christian School Swordsmen, falling 52-17. While losing is never fun, the Warrior can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while the Swordsmen are ranked 174th).

When it comes to explaining why Calvary Academy lost, don't look at Will Troy. Despite the final result, he posted nine points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Solid Rock Christian School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Reese, who earned ten points. Reese is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Patterson, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 11 points.

Calvary Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Solid Rock Christian School, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Calvary Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-43 defeat against Rocket City on the 5th. As for Solid Rock Christian School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-46 loss against Fairview Christian on the 3rd.
