Soccer Game Preview: Bloomingdale vs. Steinbrenner

The Bloomingdale Bulls will challenge the Steinbrenner Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bloomingdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.

Bloomingdale is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Strawberry Crest on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Bloomingdale's goal came courtesy of Jason Knipp, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Steinbrenner, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Alonso on Wednesday as Steinbrenner made off with a 5-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

Steinbrenner is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those eight contests. Bloomingdale's draw makes their record 10-4-1 this season.

Bloomingdale took their victory against Steinbrenner in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomingdale since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
