Volleyball Recap: Coon Rapids Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Robbinsdale Armstrong

Coon Rapids faced Robbinsdale Armstrong in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cardinals came up short against the Falcons, falling 3-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

Coon Rapids was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 26-24, 25-23.

Griffin Garbow paced Coon Rapids' offense, picking up 19 kills. Garbow got some help from Lucas Yang and his 26 assists. Garbow was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Coon Rapids and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Robbinsdale Armstrong, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
