Baseball Recap: Mount View Wins Going Away Against Twin Valley

Mount View won the last time they faced Twin Valley and things went their way on Monday too. The Golden Knights put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-1 victory. Considering the Golden Knights have won four games by more than ten runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Levi Barton made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Mount View got a massive performance out of Kyrece Hughes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. The Golden Knights are 5-1 when Hughes posts two or more runs, but 1-4-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hunter Muncy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Mount View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Mount View pushed their record up to 6-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Twin Valley, their record now sits at 2-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mount View beat the Panthers by a score of 17-3 later that day.
