Basketball Recap: Ridgeline Academy Eagles vs. Southwest Leadership Academy Rams
The Ridgeline Academy Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 89-61 victory over Southwest Leadership Academy. Ridgeline Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Southwest Leadership Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ayden Gonzales, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gonzales hasn't dropped below three steals for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Serious Sykes, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Ridgeline Academy pushed their record up to 15-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Southwest Leadership Academy, their defeat ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeline Academy will face off against the at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southwest Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
