Baseball Game Preview: East Hamilton Hurricanes vs. Dalton Catamounts

The East Hamilton Hurricanes will head out on the road to challenge the Dalton Catamounts at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, East Hamilton made easy work of Howard Tech and carried off a 13-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Hustlin' Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Grayson Maddox, who scored a run and stole five bases while going 3-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miguel Fernandez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Dalton waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Raiders as they made off with a 17-3 win.

Tate Neilson was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Connor Stockard was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Dalton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dalton's record now sits at 17-6. As for East Hamilton, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

East Hamilton skirted past Dalton 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Catamounts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
