Football Recap: Presbyterian Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Presbyterian Christian and Raleigh squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Presbyterian Christian had to settle for second. They fell 34-28 to the Lions. The Bobcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Presbyterian Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Smith Stringer, who threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns. Jet Henderson was Stringer's top target, picking up 79 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Even if they lost, Presbyterian Christian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Raleigh's QB won't forget Gaines Russum anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Lions' side was Rhett Robertson, who made 19 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Presbyterian Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Raleigh, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Presbyterian Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Raleigh, they will square off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Lions 12, the Yellowjackets 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
