Baseball Game Preview: Spencer County Bears vs. Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions

The Spencer County Bears are taking a road trip to face off against the Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Spencer County came out on top against Fairdale on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Bears were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Bulldogs. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Christian Academy-Louisville's hitters rose to the challenge against an Eagles pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.38 runs allowed on Thursday. The Centurions were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over North Bullitt.

Christian Academy-Louisville got a great performance from David Haire as he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, Haire posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last five matchups.

On the hitting side, Lucas Hale was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Kaden Crawford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Christian Academy-Louisville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Christian Academy-Louisville's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 18-10. As for Spencer County, their record is now 21-11.

Spencer County came up short against Christian Academy-Louisville in their previous meeting back in May of 2021, falling 11-8. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
