Volleyball Game Preview: Johnson County Central Thunderbirds vs. Diller-Odell Griffin

Johnson County Central won the last time they faced Elmwood-Murdock and Sophia Schmid did her part to make sure it happened again. The Thunderbirds walked away with a 3-1 win over the Knights on Monday thanks in part to Schmid, who had 18 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

In the three sets Johnson County Central was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 19-25, 25-14, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Diller-Odell beat Southern 2-0 on Tuesday.

Diller-Odell's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Johnson County Central, their win bumped their record up to 27-0.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Johnson County Central has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Diller-Odell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
