Football Recap: Quinn Barada and Kai Pernell Secure Win for Rushville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rushville). They snuck past the Connersville Spartans with a 32-28 win on Friday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Rushville was led to victory by Kai Pernell and Quinn Barada. Pernell picked up 88 receiving yards and one TD, while Barada rushed for 58 yards. Pernell showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 62 yards.

Rushville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Owen Zachery and Ryder Hatten.

Rushville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Connersville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rushville will host Lapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Connersville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Indianapolis Crispus Attucks at 7:00 p.m. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
