Recap: Decatur Central Hawks vs. Zionsville Eagles
After a string of five wins, the Decatur Central Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 66-47 bruising from Zionsville.
Zionsville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allie Caldwell led the charge by scoring 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Caldwell has scored at least 25% of Zionsville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Sampson, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Decatur Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Zionsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Decatur Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Zionsville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
