Basketball Game Preview: Kouts Mustangs & Fillies vs. North White Vikings

The Kouts Mustangs & Fillies will take on the North White Vikings in a tournament on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kouts has four straight wins, North White has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Kouts is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 62-17 victory over Hebron. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-15.

Sophia Tikalsky went supernova for Kouts, going 5 for 7 on her way to 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Nemeth, who posted seven points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Kouts smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, North White was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 29-28 to Morgan Township.

Kouts has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for North White, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
