Volleyball Game Preview: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Valencia Vikings

The Del Norte Nighthawks will face off against the Valencia Vikings at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Del Norte will be strutting in after a victory while Valencia will be coming in after a loss.

Del Norte not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th (when they won 3-0). They blew past La Costa Canyon 3-0.

Del Norte walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-21.

Del Norte's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nathan Turman, who had nine digs and one assist, and John Lee, who had 20 assists. Lee has been hot, having posted 20 or more assists the last six times he's played.

Meanwhile, Valencia came up short against Canyon on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valencia started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-30, 25-21, 25-23, 25-19.

Del Norte's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-11. As for Valencia, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.
