With a playoff win on the line, Mission Bay rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over the Torrey Pines Falcons. The 44-point effort marked the Buccaneers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Torrey Pines lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Amir Sadeghi, who went 6-for-8 on his way to 14 points. What's more, he also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Cody Shen was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points and three steals.

Mission Bay is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Torrey Pines' loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-6.

Coming up, Mission Bay will square off against Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Montgomery's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games. Torrey Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
