Volleyball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

If Franklin was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Rockdale on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Franklin started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-11, 15-13.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 14-21. As for Anderson-Shiro, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin will welcome Groesbeck at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Anderson-Shiro, they will host Brazos at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
