Basketball Recap: Gilmour Academy Takes a Loss

Gilmour Academy was the 53-40 winner over Lutheran East when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gilmour Academy Lancers received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 73-55 to the Lutheran East Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Falcons are ranked 65th).

Gilmour Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Lutheran East, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Coming up, Gilmour Academy will take on Tallmadge in a tournament on Saturday. As for Lutheran East, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against John Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. John Marshall's defense has only allowed 26.4 points per game this season, so Lutheran East's offense will have their work cut out for them.
