Volleyball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Eagles vs. SkyView Academy Hawks

Heritage Christian is a perfect 3-0 against SkyView Academy since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Heritage Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Heritage Christian won the last time they faced Highland and Abby Leveillee did her part to make sure it happened again. The Eagles came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Leveillee, who had 25 digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Heritage Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-20.

Meanwhile, SkyView Academy hadn't done well against Clear Creek recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Hawks won by a set and slipped past the Golddiggers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since August 30th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-98) SkyView Academy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-22, 25-19, 20-25, 15-13.

Heritage Christian's record now sits at 12-4. As for SkyView Academy, their record is now 11-7.

Everything went Heritage Christian's way against SkyView Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Heritage Christian made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
