Baseball Recap: Nederland Find Success

Nederland had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Georgetown Eagles 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Jackson Lane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nederland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alfred Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Williams has brought in this season.

Nederland's win bumped their record up to 26-7. As for Georgetown, they moved to 20-14-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Nederland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
