Softball Recap: Beekmantown Has No Trouble Against Northern Adirondack

Beekmantown barely beat Northern Adirondack the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Bobcats 31-17 on Monday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 11.8 runs per game.

Ashley Barnes was a standout: she went 5-for-7 with six RBI, four runs, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katharine Jewell, who got on base in all seven of her plate appearances with five runs and four RBI.

Beekmantown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Beekmantown pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Northern Adirondack, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Beekmantown and Northern Adirondack will both be playing Saranac the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bobcats will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
