Preview: Western Boone vs. Tipton

The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Tipton takes on Western Boone in the first playoff game of the year. Tipton has witnessed its point totals drop over the past three games, a trend the team will certainly want to reverse.

Last game was the first rocky defensive outing for Tipton this year. West Lafayette delivered Tipton a harsh 51 - 6 defeat two weeks ago. West Lafayette was expected to win (it is ranked 20th in the state, 38 places ahead of Tipton), but it was still a bitter blow.

As for Western Boone, it is still above.500 but has been slipping the past two games. It couldn't quite keep up with Lebanon two weeks ago and ended up losing 32 - 29. Junior Devin Weakley didn't go down without a fight, though. He put up some defensive resistance with 16 tackles.

After their losses, Western Boone dropped to 7-3 and Tipton dropped to 9-1. We'll see which team manages to turn its luck around when they battle it out this week.
