Softball Recap: Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Wins Going Away Against Bonsall

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter won the last time they faced Bonsall and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cobras put the hurt on the Legionnaires with a sharp 12-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cobras, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Monserrat Rodriguez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Alana Olivas was incredible, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Adilynn Moreno, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

The win made it two in a row for Chula Vista Learning Community Charter and bumps their season record up to 10-12. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Bonsall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Chula Vista Learning Community Charter nor Bonsall have any future games scheduled.
