Recap: Ewing Blue Devils vs. Paul VI Eagles
The Ewing Blue Devils entered their tilt with the Paul VI Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ewing managed a 61-56 win over Paul VI on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ewing to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rhian Stokes, who scored 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Stokes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Joi Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Ewing is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Paul VI, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Ewing will stay at home for another game and welcome Trenton Central at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Trenton Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Ewing is ranked 45th). Paul VI will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Lenape at 12:00 p.m. on January 15th. Lenape and Paul VI are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
