Football Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt lost against Sioux City East back in October of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Roughriders took a blow against the Black Raiders, falling 47-6. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Black Raiders are ranked 31st).

Roosevelt has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Sioux City East, their record now sits at 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Roosevelt will square off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sioux City East, they will face off against Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Black Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
