Basketball Recap: Dayani Piapot's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Two Eagle River over St. Regis

Two Eagle River played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the St. Regis Tigers, falling 56-32. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Two Eagle River lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dayani Piapot, who posted six points along with seven steals and six boards. That's the most steals Piapot has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Layla Tenas, who earned nine points.

Even though they lost, Two Eagle River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Two Eagle River's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for St. Regis, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Two Eagle River has already played their next contest, a 51-29 loss against Heart Butte on the 31st. As for St. Regis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 42-18 victory against Noxon on the 25th.
