Basketball Game Preview: Jellico Blue Devils vs. Oliver Springs Bobcats

The Jellico Blue Devils will challenge the Oliver Springs Bobcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Jellico was handed a 26-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 victory over Sunbright. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since January 25th.

Jellico found their leader in sophomore Caleb Rose, who went 9-for-16 en route to 24 points. The dominant performance gave Rose a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Trey Vann, who went 7-for-17 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Oliver Springs came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 61-40 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bobcats have posted since January 28th.

Jellico's victory bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Oliver Springs, their win bumped their record up to 17-13.

Jellico came up short against Oliver Springs when the teams last played on February 4th, falling 58-52. Can Jellico avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
