Softball Recap: Kennedy Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Kennedy had won five straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 16-8 to make it six. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chavez Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Anais Perez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Vivi Yanez was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. Leah Magallanes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Kennedy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.

As for Chavez, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Chavez's side, Jordan Billingsley was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

As of now, neither Kennedy nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
