Softball Recap: Escalon Cougars vs. Ripon Indians

Escalon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Ripon Indians, falling 7-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Kaylynn McCutcheon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Escalon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariana Velasco, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Aniston Hunt also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
