Softball Recap: East Canton Takes a Loss

East Canton couldn't beat Wellington on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Hornets fell just short of the Dukes by a score of 10-9. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Wellington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

East Canton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wellington, they will challenge Black River at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dukes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
