Basketball Game Preview: North White Vikings vs. Northfield Norsemen

The North White Vikings will square off against the Northfield Norsemen at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

North White is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Carroll two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North White was outmatched by Carroll and fell 60-24. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Cougars are ranked 171st).

Chris Annis was North White's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Fernando Gomez held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Ephraim Denton took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Meanwhile, Northfield came up short against Bluffton on Friday and fell 41-31. The contest marked the Norsemen's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for North White and nudges their season record down to 2-14. As for Northfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
