Softball Recap: Alcovy Tigers vs. Grovetown Warriors
Alcovy lost against Grovetown back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Alcovy Tigers lost 11-5 to the Grovetown Warriors. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Maya Anderson and CeCe Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Anderson scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Williams went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double.
Alcovy's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Grovetown, the win (which was their 20th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing South Effingham the next time they take the field. Alcovy will head out to face South Effingham at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Grovetown will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
