Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Comes Up Short

Jacksonville saw some tournament action on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 64-49 to the North Forney Falcons.

North Forney was led to victory by Zach Thompson and Jaiden Johnson. Thompson went 12 of 14 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds, while Johnson went 7 of 8 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 17 points gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taeshaun Benson, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points.

Jacksonville's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13. As for North Forney, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Jacksonville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-51 victory against Killeen on the 28th. As for North Forney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-31 loss against McKinney North on the 29th.
