West waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 43-11 win over the Whitney Wildcats. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 618th, while the Wildcats are ranked 1303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.1 points per game. As for Whitney, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West will welcome Clifton at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitney, they will take on McGregor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
