Softball Recap: North Union Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Newell-Fonda, North Union was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Sioux Central Rebels 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since July 3, 2024.

North Union's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sioux Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, North Union will challenge Lake Mills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sioux Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.63 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
