Volleyball Game Preview: Veterans Warhawks vs. Lowndes Vikings

The Veterans Warhawks will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Lowndes Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Veterans made easy work of Ola and carried off a 3-0 win.

Lowndes had won three straight games and Kalli Ferguson did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Vikings came out on top against Houston County by a score of 2-0 thanks in part to Ferguson, who had 19 assists and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

While Lowndes won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-12.

Veterans now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lowndes, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Veterans beat Lowndes 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Will the Warhawks repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
