Baseball Recap: Palmyra Comes Up Short

If Palmyra was riding high fresh off their 13-2 takedown of Pennsauken Tech on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Hunterdon Eagles on Thursday.

Steven Peltz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dean Maute, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Palmyra's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for South Hunterdon, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Palmyra will host Haddon Township at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for South Hunterdon, they will head out on the road to square off against Point Pleasant Boro at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
