Softball Preview: St. Croix Central Panthers vs. Altoona Railroaders

St. Croix Central has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Altoona Railroaders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games St. Croix Central has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, St. Croix Central had just enough and edged Altoona out 6-4.

Madeline Rydberg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Rydberg was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Lucille Mansell was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Izzy Sabelko, who scored two runs and stole a base.

St. Croix Central now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Altoona, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
