Football Recap: Noah Jenkins' Menacing Defense Leads Murrieta Mesa over Temecula Valley + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Costa Canyon, Murrieta Mesa was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Temecula Valley Golden Bears with points to spare, taking the game 35-21. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 302nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The critical scores for Murrieta Mesa came from Jeremiah Broman, Samar Stallworth, and Daniel Ritchie.

Murrieta Mesa didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Temecula Valley to a completion percentage of just 44%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Broman, Kaiden DiFiore, and Nathaniel Weideman, who each logged one passes deflected. Murrieta Mesa wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 65%.

Murrieta Mesa's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. Noah Jenkins was especially locked on to Temecula Valley's QB and sacked him 2.5 times. Jenkins is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last four games he's played.

The win got Murrieta Mesa back to even at 3-3. As for Temecula Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-3.
