Baseball Game Preview: Morristown-Beard Crimson vs. Morris County Tech Devils

For the second straight game, Morristown-Beard will face off against Morris County Tech. The Crimson will head out to challenge the Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Morristown-Beard's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Morris County Tech. The result was nothing new for the Crimson, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Morristown-Beard got a great performance from Sam Bastardo as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Bastardo has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Hriczov and Sam Cherins did most of the damage at the plate: Hriczov went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Cherins went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Cherins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Zaikov, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Morristown-Beard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Morristown-Beard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
