Soccer Recap: Downey Comes Up Short

If Downey was riding high fresh off their 4-0 takedown of Turlock on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Pitman Pride by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Pitman this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in January.

Downey's loss dropped their record down to 9-5-3. As for Pitman, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Downey is set to take on their familiar foe Enochs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pitman will face off against rival Modesto at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
