Football Recap: Geneseo Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Geneseo's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against the Alleman Pioneers by a score of 34-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Maple Leafs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Pioneers are ranked 430th).

Erik Bjorkman was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 106 yards and two TDs.

Despite the loss, Alleman saw an underclassman step up: freshman Dereon McDaniel rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

Geneseo pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.4 points over those games. As for Alleman, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
