The Riverton Silverwolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Bountiful RedHawks at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Riverton 3.4, Bountiful 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Bountiful will be up against a hot Riverton team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Silverwolves blew past Corner Canyon 25-4 on Tuesday. Considering the Silverwolves have won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Maycee Madsen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Aspen Roberts, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Riverton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .762. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.
Bountiful never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bonneville on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Lakers.
Ella Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Claire Yates was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Kamryn Rasmussen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Bountiful pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Riverton, their record now sits at 23-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Riverton hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 2.3 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bountiful struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
