Baseball Game Preview: Central Bobcats vs. Fairfax Stampede

For the second straight game, Central will face off against Fairfax. The Bobcats will face off against the Stampede at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Central has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 18 straight defeats, while Fairfax will come in with five straight wins.

Central lost 14-1 to Fairfax on Tuesday.

For Fairfax's part, Daniel Alaniz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. Alaniz has become a key player for the Stampede: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 7-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Vincent Quadrozzi was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Balderas, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Quadrozzi wasn't the only one making solid contact: Fairfax kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Fairfax's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.3 runs. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
