Volleyball Recap: Wheeling Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Wheeling lost to Streamwood back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Sabres 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since May 4, 2024.

Wheeling had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-15, 16-14.

Wheeling's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3. As for Streamwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Coincidentally, Wheeling and Streamwood will both be playing Hoffman Estates the next time they take the court. The Sabres will host the Hawks at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
